Every time you synchronize Prepd Offline, part of the News Feed article pool will be included. This makes those articles available for you to use at a tournament, without an active Internet connection.
What can change the articles which are synced to your Prepd Offline's News Feed?
- how long it has passed since your last sync - new articles will be added every time you synchronize, if the News feed list has been updated on the online application.
- what your News Feed Classroom settings are - the lifespan of the articles in your News Feed depend on the settings from the Classroom's Team Settings page. This is available to coaches only and it allows them to choose to keep articles which are only 2/4/6/8/10/12 weeks old.
- Choosing a shorter lifespan (2 weeks) will make your News Feed list smaller, thus improving the sync speed.
- the number of articles from your account at the time of the sync - for performance reasons, Prepd has a hard article limit of 250,000 for all teams. Because the News Feed articles are behaving like normal articles saved in your collection on the Prepd Offline, the app forces a limit on them. This limit is calculated as 250,000 minus your total number of articles in your collection at that time.
For example, if you already have 220,000 articles saved, when you sync, only 30,000 articles will be added to the News Feed. But, if you go into the Dashboard and do a purge for 20,000 articles out of the 220k, you allow for more News Feed articles to be loaded. Thus, the next time you sync, the News feed will contain 50,000 articles.
Thus, it is possible that every time you sync your Prepd Offline, other articles to be available in the News Feed, if any of the circumstances above has been changed. If you find an article in the News Feed, and you want to make sure you'll have it at a tournament, make sure to save it to the Library.
