Mark as Read is a handy tool offered by Prepd, to help students keep better track of the articles they read and coaches to supervise their students' work.
Marking articles
From either application (Library, Extemp or Congress), when an article from your collection is open you can see a "Mark as Read" button on the lower navigation bar. Clicking it will open a window with a small "reading exercise". Exercises are selected randomly and are:
- Analysis of an argument
- Significance statement
- Identify three new things you have learned from the article
- Extemp Practice Question
If the article has been already marked, the button will change to "Read on [date]" and clicking it will open the answer to the marking exercise. If you are using the News Feed, please first save the article to your account and then open it again from the Article Feed to have access to marking.
To see students' activity
Visit the Classroom application. There, on the Home page, if you click on each student's name, it will open their individual profile. On the profile, switch over to "Library" and you'll see a list of all the articles the student has read, when, and what were their answers.
