Create assignments, or Challenges, in Prepd’s Classroom application.
Classroom allows coaches and captains to create assignments (or Challenges) for their debate team.
What is a Challenge?
A Challenge is a group of tasks that a student is expected to complete by a certain date. The Challenges feature makes it easy to assign tasks in Prepd and monitor completion activity.
How do you create challenges?
Coaches or captains can create a Challenge through the Classroom. Log into classroom.prepd.in and click on the checkmark icon on the far left to open the Challenges section. The first page allows you to review the status of a currently active Challenge. Select the “Create” button in the top row to add new challenges. Identify start and end dates, participating students, and the unique tasks. For each task, you identify how many must be completed (e.g., 10 articles read, or 5 practice questions submitted). Coaches or captains can also leave written commentary for the challenge. Click “Create Challenge” and it will go into a queue (“Upcoming and History” page), such that the Challenge goes live once the start date approaches.
What tasks can I assign in a challenge?
Challenges allow coaches to assign and track the following tasks:
- Catch articles (Fast Catch, News Feed, or PDF)
- Mark articles as read
- Save Memories
- Save words to your Vocabulary List
- Submit Extemp practice questions
- Create a round (Library or Extemp)
- Create Congress Speeches
- Create Congress Arguments
How will students use Challenges?
Once a Challenge goes live, all participating students will receive an email informing them of the Challenge. Moreover, as you use the Library, Extemp, and Congress, you’ll notice a progress bar icon in the top right corner. Click on the progress bar to see how the assigned tasks, and how many more you have to complete to finish the Challenge. At any time, you can log into the Classroom and review active and upcoming challenges.
